AWESOME BREAKFAST!! They have great "light" portions that are well priced and portioned. Local Java Java coffee never fails to please:)

Definitely not coming back here for food again. The service either. Our waitress greeted us & told us to sit wherever, once seated we got our waters & ordered a salad & a side of fries. We asked for lemons for our waters & never got them. We were there for a craft night & came early to have dinner before it started. We came around 6 & didn't get our food (which again was a salad & a side of fries) until well after 7. When we got our food, after we asked for it, the steak I asked to be cooked medium, was burnt on the outside & like leather. The salad was wilted & soggy. We didn't even eat it, sent it back & still had to pay for it on our bill. The fries were excellent, but it's pretty hard to screw that up. Not only did the waitress forget about us, when we came in to sit down in the restaurant side, it was just us & two other groups (not counting a couple groups in the bar). We ended up moving to the bar before our food got there & had to work around our craft night & eat at the same time. All-in-all, the experience here dining wise was terrible & I will not be coming back or tell anyone to come here. There are many other options in Four Corners to go to instead.

Love this local gem. The owners and the staff are always happy and friendly. I have read the reviews for this restaurant and most have been very bad, I'm not sure what they were thinking. They must have come in when they 1st started in maple valley. It will always take a restaurant or bar at least a month or two to get everything ironed out. I have been in several times, and even during their transition they have always been friendly and helpful. I've also been there when they have been very very and running like crazy and they have still been friendly.

Just bad all the way around, but what makes this place worse is the fact that it's SO much worse than the original restaurant that used to occupy the same space. We were energetically greeted by a hostess/waitress I'd never seen before who welcomed us to sit wherever we liked. Nothing on the outside or inside of the building referenced the fact that this was no longer the Cedar Grill Restaurant (indeed, the signage outside still says Cedar Grill); that only came later when we received the new menus that said Taphouse Ink. "Is this no longer the Cedar Grill?" I asked the waitress. "No, we changed about a month ago, but it's really good. You'll really like the food. I really like the food, and um ... I'm really picky," the waitress said as she began retreating. The menu of the new establishment has some glaring defects. Gone is the children's menu. Psst ... look around folks. Do you notice how many kids there are in Maple Valley? Does it seem like a good business move to leave them out? Equally absent are the plethora of breakfast options that used to be available--a strong-suit of the former Cedar Grill. Prices are inflated on most items ($4 for a sausage patty?), but I settled on the (seemingly) reasonably priced chicken fried steak. Obviously the new ownership is trying to appeal to more of a bar scene than a diner scene, and that is all I will say about the menu. Before I go into detail on the lackluster food, let's talk about the service, which was by far the worst aspect of the entire meal. Very enthusiastic, but incompetent and unprofessional. Let's look beyond how she was dressed (spandex pants was an interesting choice), or how loud she was at times (talking to one of the line cooks "I'm going to call you Josiah! So you, like, yell at me if I don't call you Josiah, ok?"). How many times did we have to ask for the light menu? Three times. What was the time elapsed between ordering our food and receiving our food? Try just shy of 30 minutes (29 mins and change). How many times did we have to ask for our toast, which was "just being sliced?" Twice to her, and then once to another lady who finally delivered. The cherry on top was when she loudly declared to everyone in the vicinity that she just "had to sit down and rest for a minute" at a bench near our table. Odd behavior. The fact that she did so again when trying to operate her iPad to get us our bill (something she struggled to do), made me wonder how on earth she got a job here--guessing she's the owner's daughter? The food (once we finally received it) was disappointing. For the same price as Cedar Grill, the portion was, at best, 1/2 of what was previously served. The quality was nowhere near the same. The chicken fried steak required a knife and significant sawing to cut a piece, and the meat was very chewy. The Cedar Grill's chicken fried steak was tender enough to cut with a fork, for comparison. The toast options are quite limited (no rye?) and not worth the wait. I could go on, but I think the point is aptly made by now. First and last time we'll visit this place.

Great place! Waitresses are sweet, and actually have a conversation with you. They try to get to know there clientele on a personal level! Food was pretty good, really big portions so I suggest the light portions on the menu. I will be visiting the Taphouse soon!
